"Wonderful, carefree travel, tailored to meet our interests, with a friendly, knowledgeable tour guide! Fantastic to get the history and personal attention, with the local language and familiarity with all the routes by the guide. Nothing was too much trouble and all requests were met."

"If you want a hassle-free, well-organised tour of Italy, tailored to your own requirements, this is the tour for you. We travelled in a modern 9-seater bus - in our case, two buses - for a group of 14 people. As an elderly person, the small bus was wonderful - quick, easy access, no high steps to negotiate and we didn’t have the feel of being herded around as in the larger coaches. Always cheerful, Linda’s love and historical knowledge of Italy, as well as for local customs which she willingly shared with us, made the trip so interesting. I have visited Italy several times previously, but after this comprehensive tour, I feel I really know the country now and the wonderful memories will linger. Grazie mille Linda."

This special itinerary takes a leisurely roam through the famed and the fabulous nooks of beauty, history and culture of this rightly much-lauded part of Italy, with time to observe, experience, share thoughts and contemplate along the way.

Our trip begins in the lovely medieval city of Lucca, where we’ll take a stroll around the city walks and explore the pretty centre.

Enjoy two days in Renaissance Florence appreciating just some of what this amazing city offers – Michelangelo’s extraordinary Medici tombs, the Cathedral and Ghiberti’s bronze Baptistry doors, Ponte Vecchio, the leather market of San Lorenzo, the Loggia della Signoria.

Travel into the hills of Tuscany to our villa apartments, part of a picturesque oil and wine-producing farm near the medieval village of Trequanda. Dine on excellent local foods and wines and meet many of the people who produce them.

From this idyllic base we visit Arezzo, Cortona, Pienza and other Tuscan delights and in Umbria we’ll visit Assisi and Perugia. There’ll be time to wander tranquil country lanes and gardens, breathing in their timeless perfumes, and to shop for those special.

In southern Tuscany, an area of major importance to Etruscan history, visit the extraordinary valley of hillside burial sites and Hildebrand’s tomb.

See Pitigliano rising seamlessly out of the volcanic tufo, explore clifftop Sorano and enjoy the gastronomic delights of this area. The tour ends with drop-off at Rome Fiumicino Airport around midday.
